- This is a “must see” site of visitor to Chiang Mai must tour. A trip up the winding road to the monastery on top of Doi Suthep mountain. The temple is a sight in itself, and its perch on top of a mountain provides a panoramic view of Chiang Mai and its environs. The original founding of the temple remains a legend and there are a few varied versions. The temple is said to have been founded in 1383 when the first stupa was built. Over time, the temple has expanded, and been made to look more extravagant with many more holy shrines added. A road to the temple was first built in 1935.
- And then visit Wat Phra Singh is located in the western part of the old city centre of Chiang Mai. The temple houses an important Buddha statue: the Phra Buddha Sihing which gives the temple its name. These tour our experinced local guide will give information of the history of Chiang Mai and Lanna kingdom.

Doi Suthep temple and Khun Chang Kien Hmong Village / Highlight, The golden pagoda of Doi Suthep temple and culture of Hmong tribe.

Pick up from hotel by minivan and drive up to the mountain of Doi Suthep for about 30 minutes. Then you will be driven up another narrow road by ‘songthaew’ or a minitruck. You can stop along the dirt road at the Chang Khien Coffee Research Project for a cup of local arabica. A little further along the road you will reach the Hmong village of Chang Khien, where 800 inhabitants still wear their traditional dress and practice a 500 years old culture. These village are making a living from agriculture such as Lychee and coffee.
You will then be driven to Wat Pra That Doi Suthep, the most famous landmark in the area, found 1,050 meters above the city. Climb the steep staircase (adorned with Nagas – the mythical Thai water spirits) to reach the impressive golden pagoda. Take your time to learn about the temple and take photos of the city below. Your guide will explain the story of the temple, the white elephant and lead you around its impressive Chedi with its beautiful murals.
This morning you will be picked up at 8.30am and you will get back to the hotel around 12.30 or afternoon tour start from 13.30-17.30
